This piece of research intended to understand the meaning of an Interdisciplinary praxis in Visual Arts at university level in order to overcome the dichotomy between science and art.
This task became very important in the contemporary world with the introduction of computer graphics new technologies as an artistic tool, which have been changing the traditional Visual Arts concepts.
Starting with personal questions asked by the researcher experience as a Visual Artist (painter and computer artist) the interdisciplinary studies in education became the founding theory for this work.
In a process of creating metaphors that lead to a cultural understanding of the interdisciplinary research world, the researcher felt the necessity to understand their own artistic work. This need took the form of a memory rescue, which focused in 10 years of professional praxis experience.
Within the body of this memory three moments were analyzed: the building of an interdisciplinary space for technological art education; the conflicting experience with a student in the Visual Arts course where I used technological tools to promote success; and an ideological discussion about building visualities from the contemporary art technological tools. In these studies we raised questions on space, subjects and the interdisciplinary research. The answers to these questions help the researcher to conclude that we can understand art and technology education just as art education in the interdisciplinary field and not as another branch in the disciplinary world. The researcher proposes the construction of a new erudition in an interdisciplinary manner, revealing new possibilities of research and education in the field of visual arts.
